RainbirdGEO Showcases Cambodia-Specific Heatwave Early Warning System at ADB Regional Meeting
From June 2 to 4, 2025, RainbirdGEO participated in the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Regional Meeting held in Bangkok, Thailand, where it showcased its Cambodia-specific mobile app for a heatwave early warning system currently under development.
During the event, visitors to the RainbirdGEO booth had the opportunity to explore the app firsthand and provided a wide range of valuable feedback. Government agencies and NGOs from countries such as the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and Bangladesh expressed strong interest, highlighting the system’s potential for broader regional adoption.

RainbirdGEO CEO Yong-Sang Choi took part as a speaker in a panel discussion titled “Blueprints for Change: Designing Gender-Responsive Heat Interventions,” where he emphasized the importance of early warning systems to enhance women’s resilience and capacity to respond to heatwaves. He also shared key insights gained from the ongoing project in Cambodia.

In the breakout session “Enhancing Early Warning Systems for Women,” Choi served as a co-facilitator and engaged in in-depth discussions with country representatives about the strengths and limitations of their existing systems. Through these exchanges, RainbirdGEO gained valuable insights to further advance its early warning solutions in a more gender-responsive and resilient direction.
